Our busy, growing gym is in need of an outgoing, professional and team-oriented, personal trainer and group fitness instructor with the willingness to learn our gym’s processes and procedures, and to dive into mentoring and fitness guidance sessions with our clients. The successful applicant will not only be responsible for taking on existing clients based on need, but also for soliciting new business and teaching gym members about the benefits of personal training. We’re looking for a motivated individual with sales experience who can help us establish a competitive edge in our region and maintain the “family feeling” developed with clients at our gym. Since many of our members are interested in H.I.I.T. style workouts, boxing and kickboxing, trainers with experience in these areas will receive top priority. Trainers are paid up to $30 per class and personal training commission.

Personal Trainer Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Assume the responsibility of training existing clients who are interested in increasing their fitness levels, losing weight and entering competitions
  2. Provide clients with safe, reasonable exercises that they can perform in the gym as well as at home
  3. Give clients ample notice if you need to change appointment times and respond quickly to clients who must change their schedules.
  4. Lead group fitness classes
  5. Advise clients about important safety concerns and demonstrate exercises or maneuvers as needed
  6. Recruit and sell gym memberships and personal training packages

Qualifications & Skills

  • Must have current nationally accredited certification
  • Must have current, valid CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Degree welcomed but not necessary
  • 2+ years experience in personal training or group fitness instruction is a plus
  • Ability to perform exercises and movements as demonstrations for clients
  • Sales experience is a plus
  • Willing to work early mornings and early evenings
